Our Club
The Northwest Indiana Magic Club is The Region’s only regular gathering of magicians. The club meets each month on the last Wednesday at The Old Lake County Sheriff’s House & Jail. Meetings feature a different theme each month, which is designed to challenge our members to create new & exciting magic effects never seen before.
Who We Are
Each one of our members share a passion for spreading the joy of magic, and vary from highly experienced professionals to absolute beginners. Magicians sharing knowledge between one-another is a key part of keeping the art alive. The wide array of talent, performance styles, and historical knowledge between our members allows us to collaborate on new magic effects and give each other constructive criticism.

Owen was first introduced to magic at a young age while attending a birthday party featuring a performing magician. Since then he has been collecting and reading books on sleight of hand, card magic, stage illusions, and mentalism. Owen is the organizer and primary contact of The Northwest Indiana Magic Club.
Larry Wirtz
Crown Point, IN
Working Professional
Larry Wirtz is a professional speaker, comedian and illusionist who, to the delight of his audiences, has been touring nationally while entertaining and educating audiences of all generations since 1982. Larry is the Fifth Generation Director of the Chavez Studio of Magic, established in 1941. It was the first school of its kind approved by the GI Bill and continues to train select individuals in the classic art of sleight-of-hand and stage manipulation performed in the Chavez tradition. The school’s reputation for excellence in personal instruction attracts potential students from all around the world.
